- The campaign is set in the world of John Bierce's Mage Errant series
around 100 years after the series ends, more or less - each PC has
memories of a past life in a rather different universe where they played
a pivotal role in some conflict (and there are likely other differences
as well).
- The rules are Hero System 6th edition, superheroic but with
characteristic maxima and low-level purchased equipment (standard starting
fantasy hero stuff). Starting points are 100 base, 30 complications 5
points of which is a shared one - having a secret past life. While hit
locations aren't used, disabling and impairing can happen on a narrative
(rather than mechanical) basis; likewise, there can be healing mishaps
on sufficiently failed roles, if narratively appropriate.
- We're trying an initiative modification of using INT as a tiebreaker
to encourage non-breakpoint INT scores.
- I've proposed a modification to the scatter rules for area of effect
attacks to remove the maximum scatter limit (normally half the distance
to the target) in order to make point-blank area of effect attacks not
be automatic hits (it also matches my juggling experience ;).
