We use suggestion to question the monk, although it turns out this wasn't necessary - Mika is actually a spy who infiltrated the group, and is quite willing to share what she's found out. Sadly, that's not a whole lot, as she's only been with the group a couple of ten days. We do learn of Helenrae, the abbess of the monastery, who appears to like beating up her underlings. There's also Guido, the priest who has or is looking for the Iron Fang, a holy implement of earth power (we hear about the Fane of the Eye). Mika's also able to tell us the layout of the place, or at least the aboveground parts (besides the one locked room), as she's never been below. After healing up, we launch an assault on the place while Helenrae is busy beating up her underlings in the dojo. Mika's silence allows the fight to not draw spectators, and all are subdued (2200 xp, 800 sp, 65 pp, 12x 10 gp gems). Next comes an assault on the altar room, with the priest and his minions. They all have stone armor, and some annoying spells, but we manage to beat them up. Guido gets away, though, into the underground area, and releases a crippled umber hulk they use for performing sacrifices in the hopes it'll annoy us. Sadly, it can't climb the inclined stairs, and its metal mandibles prove vulnerable to heat metal. Guido is then collected, pinned between us and a room full of zombies (2300 xp, 120 gp, 90 ep, 40 gp of cloth, 2x 40 gp bracelets, scrolls of earthhand, maximillen's earthen grasp, transmute rock). Investigation of the locked room reveals a lich! We apologize for the intrusion and retreat without incident. At some point, a roomful of duegar are defeated, but this is glossed over.
