While putting together a travious to haul the unconscious thugs back to town, another group emerges from the caves - an older man, a young man, and a beefy, but perhaps a bit slow half-orc. While the older man is a bit guarded at first, the half-orc (a pickle maker) quickly spills the beans, and soon we get the whole story out, mostly from Bare Augustus, a former guard leader (the kid is Railen, Rother's son). It seems there's a secret cult (The Believers) in town dedicated to preserving and honoring the ancient dwarves (whom they refer to as delvers). A number of people in town are members (including Meliko, as it happens, but not including Harbark). Speaking of Meliko, someone was keeping watch outside and tries to scarper, and when Lam attempts to run them down, that's who she finds. Meliko claims she wasn't waiting outside and is generally uncooperative. The prisoners are eventually turned over to Harvark, along with what information we know. However, not long after a sorcerer might have regained his spells after a long rest, we heard a thunderclap from around the makeshift prison, followed by giant wings taking off. It seems Larak attempted to finish off his captured followers. Luckily, he didn't get all of them, and the survivor spills everything he knows. (We also find and/or are told of volume seven of a book about dwarven ruins. Volvo tells us about purchasing it from a merchant in Womford who had more that Volvo couldn't afford.) This points us east, to a camp at the base of the Sumber Hills 15-20 miles away. We get into a fight with a sorcerer, two shark wielders, and four bandits (water cultists). The bandits mostly escape, but we capture the sorcerer and a couple others and head to Bargewright Inn with them (we also acquire some used chain shirts and rusty scimitars (30 gp worth), plus 775 xp and a map to what turns out to be an old haunted keep) . Malisker is the innkeeper.
